As
noted above, Patrick Horton can contract for hire for
for some or all of the work on original screenplays
under two general circumstances. One, in which the
potential of the story exceeds the client's current or
inherent skills, or those in which an individual
client or a production entity simply seeks to turn an
idea or storyline into a viable screenplay in the
shortest time and highest standards possible.
It
should be noted here that, in first exploring the
potential of such stories, an initial session or
sessions will be required in the role of story coach
to determine what the contractors are after and what
exists in terms of story possibility. This initial
exploration may be billed at the lesser coaching rate
prior to taking on the writing assignment at standard
writer for hire rates, and may apply to the
writing contract if entered.
If
there is a 'there' there, the steps for collaborative
story development below will be invoked along with any
needed steps in creating a viable treatment as stated
above. It is in the interest of all involved, and the
only way Patrick will work, to make sure everyone is
having the same conversation, goals, and desired
story. Those who are not interested in such
exploration and clarity of purpose need not make
contact.
